Here are some solutions to common problems:
*Please check that you have electrical power plugged in and turned on*
Printing
Is the computer that is physically connected to the printer turned on? If not, turn it on
Does the printer have power- usually has a small green light indicating it's on
If paper is jammed- please do not attempt to pull it out as there are main small components that can easily break


Projector not projecting computer image
Easiest way is to turn the projector on first and the computer on second- the computer will autosense a projector and project both images
If not it varies according to your projector and laptop model- see choice below

Lenovo - IBM laptop press the fn key and the F7 at the same time you may have to do it several times the image may toggle from the laptop to the projector- continue the combination until it appears on both
	Dell laptop press the fn key and the F8 (says crt/lcd on it) at the same time you may have to do it several times the image may toggle from the laptop to the projector- continue the combination until it appears on both
HP laptop press the fn key and the F4 (says crt/lcd on it) at the same time you may have to do it several times the image may toggle from the laptop to the projector- continue the combination until it appears on both
If your image is too large or cutting off the screen

Right click on desktop	Select graphic properties
	Clone Options Built in Display + Monitor

	NEC Projector Check the on/off switch in the back If power is on you will see a green light on top
on top of NEC projector the power light should be green if you have the on switch in the right position\ if the power light is not on check you electrical connections- is it plugged in? Is there power on the strip it is plugged into? When you have power, click on source and select computer

	The Mitsubshi projector does not have an on and off switch press the power on button press the computer button
Hitachi has on/off switch in the back
	Check the power light is lit if not then check plug and electrical switch you can press the input key to put in on computer

Wireless not connecting- first thing to check is that wifi is turned on on the laptop
	Wifi symbol is located on bottom right hand side of screen- it's universal symbol is a computer with radio wave- when connected it appears to blink
you can right click on the wireless symbol
	Select repair, it actually reset wireless settings and many times resolves the problem

On Dell Lattitude E6400- there's a switch on the right hand side of the laptop- it has a antenea symbol, it's on unless you see a red line. It also has a led light indicating that the wifi is on on the upper left hand side

On HP 620- key to right of f12 should have blue light on, press if orange light	The wireless symbol looks like an antennae just below the screen, it should be lit

Smart Board Software starts up only when you are logged into the computer as a faculty member, not classroom number

	This is the bluetooth that needs to be plugged into your laptop to connect to the Smart Board. This should be in the laptop securely and when connected lights up.
	**Please do not borrow another teachers, as they create a relationship with the board and can create conflicts when moved around

There's no way to completely eliminate spam mail. Think about the junk mail you get everyday when companies are paying to mail it out. there are some ways to reduce it.
Only open email from people you know

Use the unsubscribe- it works. Most companies provide an unsubscribe to their mailings.

If it sounds too good to be true, chances are it is. If you won a million dollars, don't send your social security number or bank account information online

Viruses, Spyware and Malware
First, realize it is not a hardware issue- you do not need a new computer
Your anti-virus should always be up to date- check for updates- Scan
Some Antivirus programs to download:
AVG
Avira
PC Tools
Here are some possible solutions to try:
Windows System Restore- go to

Go to all programs, accessories	system tools

System Restore	Select a date that is before your problems began
It could work!!!!	**If System Restore does not run, try and boot computer in safe mode- press f5 or f8 during start up (safe mode with networking)

	reboot after and rerun to check if all are removed

Advanced:
go to run and type in msconfig-go to start up tab- only permit programs you recognize to start up and only ones that need to be loaded during start up- uncheck any that have no name next to them and any with foolish or unknown program names reboot It will alert you that it is running using msconfig- click okay run antivirus and spyware- reboot and rerun-	Last Resort-
	Restore computer to factory settings
	You will lose all files but will have a computer as good as when you bought it
	Start computer with DVD that came with computer
