Working on Wellness

This year, in an effort to further prepare students to make good life choices the district will be implementing a new wellness policy. Throughout the course of the year the district asks that you help in this initiative by encouraging your child to make smart food choices when eating at home. You will notice when you enter each of our buildings, the schools’ new banner shares our district commitment to Working on Wellness.

Below are a few sample healthy tips that would make delicious after-school snacks:

* Fruit Shakes
* Granola Bars
* Raw vegetables served with a low fat dip
* Fresh fruit
* Non-sugared cereals or snack mixes
* Popcorn or pretzels
* Yogurt

Additional snack ideas fill the backside of a wellness bookmark that each district student received at the beginning of the year.
