Superintendent's Message

Dear Families:

Earlier this year, I asked our faculty to list some favorite books from their childhood. We thought your children might want to read books their own teachers cherished. Click here and it will lead you to the list. The list is arranged alphabetically. Chapter books, usually for older children, are marked with a c to let you know that they are chapter books.

Reading to and with your children during vacation and throughout the year is one of the best gifts you can provide. Our local libraries are filled with wonderful collections for children. Research shows that children who have been read to learn to read more easily. Research also shows that children who read for at least twenty minutes per day have higher academic achievement.

Enjoy this special time with your family. Share family stories and read favorite books together.

Sincerely,

Adrienne Robb-Fund,
Superintendent of Schools
