“Abstract Leaves”
4 th grade Willow Road students were inspired by the season as they created these colorful abstract leaves. Students used real leaves to draw from, and were challenged to arrange their leaves in a unique style to create a pleasing composition. The images were broken down into sections by creating a variety of lines. Students learned about warm and cool colors, and used this knowledge to paint these beautiful paintings.
Harvest Still Life’s
James A. Dever fourth graders used the element of value, or the lightness or darkness of a color, to create these still life's.
Values of colors help lend emphasis or contrast to certain areas of an artwork.
In Howell Road School, our fourth grade students made a design project using line and color to create beautiful abstract creations. They used rulers to measure space, and colored pencils to enhance their designs.
The fourth Grade students at Wheeler created these designs. The goal was to play a drawing game that required the students to draw stripes across the page without getting trapped into an enclosed space or touching a shape or another line. That would be considered a wipeout similar to a surfer falling off his board. As you can see, they were very successful and made beautiful pictures at the same time.
