“My Family”
James A. Dever Kindergarteners created these charming family collages after looking at the work of New York City artist Romare Beardon. Each Kindergartener learned how to fashion a head, shirt, pants and shoes out of patterned paper. Their families are so proud!

Our kindergarten students at Howell Road School read the book “The Cat in the Hat “ by Dr. Suess We made pictures of our cats sitting in our living rooms, using crayons and colored paper.

It’s Raining Shapes
Kindergarten students at Willow Road engaged their knowledge of shapes and weather to create these whimsical pictures.  They began by coloring and cutting their shapes and finished with a self-portrait of themselves under an umbrella.

Kindergarten/”Primary Color Compositions”

In this lesson Willow road kindergarten students were introduced to the primary colors of red, yellow and blue.  Students continued to gain mastery of the basic shapes, while also learning about the art element of repetition.  As a final touch, students created a frame of shapes demonstrating their cutting abilities.
