| Curriculum
mapping is a system that thematically aligns assessment, curriculum,
and instruction. This website through the efforts of Valley Stream teachers
will evolve, to help teachers learn to match curriculum themes, topics,
issues, problems for implementation, and curriculum design. Use of Curriculum
Mapping can help raise test scores, eliminate gaps and duplication in the
curriculum, and enable teachers to creatively and collaboratively plan together. |
| Essential
Questions are open-ended questions which are challenging, interesting,
and worthy of students' efforts to answer them. Such questions provide students
with their assessment for the course and unit of study on Day 1 of study,
not the last day. In sum, they help students focus on the big picture,
thereby encouraging the marshaling of documentary evidence to support judgments
about significant issues facing society. |
