Why You Chose This Person? Opinion

I chose Hershey because he started a company. Everybody eats chocolate I hope. He invented mostly all the chocolate in the world. Some chocolates are kisses, Hershey bars,

Hershey bars with peanuts, carmal chocolate and a lot more. If I was Hershey I would build my house in chocolate.

Why They Are Important To You And Others? Fact and Opinion.

Hershey is important to others because he invented chocolate for them to eat. If Hershey chocolate was taken away everybody would be really mad because chocolate is very popular. He is also important because he built an

amusement park for kids and it even had a hospital.

Childhood (birth, parents, siblings, important events that impacted them as a child) Facts?

Hershey was born September 13, 1857 on a farm near Derry, church, Pennsylvania. But he did not have any siblings. He dropped out of school after the fourth grade and was apprenticed to a Lancaster, Pennsylvania printer, but soon he was fired. Following a four year apprenticed with a Lancaster candy maker, he established his first candy making business in Philadelphia. That effort failed as did his next two attempts in Chicago and New York. His reformed Mennonite mother’s family financed several of these unsuccessful ventures in the candy industry.

 ADULTHHOOD

On May, 1898 Hershey married Catherine Kitty Sweeny. Since the couple could not have children they decided to use their successes to benefit others, opening the Hershey Industrial School in 1909. Catherine died prematurely in 1915 and Hershey was never remarried. In 1918 three years after Catherine’s death he ended the school with his entire fortune of Hershey chocolate company stock. In World War 2 Hershey’s chocolate supplied the U.S. military with chocolate bars during World War 2. These bars were called Ration D Bars and Tropical Bars. It is estimated that between 1940 and 1945 over 3 billion of the Ration D Bars and Tropical Bars were produced and distributed to solders. In 1912 Hershey were to travel on the ill-fated British luxury liner on the Titanic. However they cancelled their reservation because Mrs. Hershey was ill 13, 1945 in Hershey’s hospital a year after he had returned from the board.

              Contribution to the World Facts?

Hershey helped people today by selling his chocolate still and not stopping business because everybody mostly likes chocolate and people will be mad if they do stop business. It also still helps the U.S. military in the wars and trying to protect our country.

How did learning about this person help you and how did it make you feel? Opinion

Hershey helped me no that if you run a job and it is selling lots of something that people like and you die do not stop the business. The people would be very mad because they like it a lot and they would keep on saying I miss that business because it was very good. So if you die put someone who works well in charge of the business.

Would you recommend learning about this person to someone else and why?

I would want to recommend Hershey to other people because their was a lot of interesting facts about him and just learning about him makes you learn a lesson. That lesson is that I learned is doing not stop a job if popular and also if you like chocolate then you will like to do Hershey as a project.
