 Why I choose this person? OPINION

I choose this person because when I found out she saved the portrat of George Washington when the white house was burning down, I wondered if she saved or did anything else in her life. She seems like a strong and brave girl. I think she has guts to go into a burning building. I think she made a difference in our country.

 

Why she is important to you and others? FACT AND OPINION

Dolly Madison is important to me because she saved a piece of history. I think this is important because if she didn’t there would be nothing left from the old white house today. Than it would be a new white house with no history.

 

Childhood FACTS

Dolly Madison was born on May 20 1772. John and Mary Coles Payne, settlers from Virginia, birth. Dolly grew up in a very strict discipline, but nothing made her happiness disappear. She was a happy child.                                        

                                         

Adulthood FACTS

Dolly was married to John Todd Jr. He was a lawyer. After they got married, three years later, John died in a yellow fever epidemic. After he died, Dolly had no one to help take care of her only son, Payne. She got remarried after his death to James Madison. Dolly Madison was 77 years old when she died on July 12, 1849.L

 Dolly Madison fought in the War of 1812 and helped gain victory!! Dolly was also brave. She saved the original portrat of George Washington from a burning building. Every new here as a hero.

Dolly Madison made me feel strong and powerful. It made me feel like a girl can do anything a boy can do (which is totally true and we can do it in high heels). I hope every girl feels the same way.

Dolly Madison was a beautiful woman with black curly hair. She also had light skin and blue eyes. She was a very pretty woman.
