Why I chose this person? Opinion

I chose James Buchanan because he was very bright man who didn’t only think of him self or what half the group though he though of what was fair for every one .After taking a tour of his home in Lancaster PA it urged me to learn more about his life , family and hobbies. I hope you learn about James Buchanan thought my life experiences and several book.

Why they are important to me and others?

James Buchanan was important to myself and others because he was our 15th president who was smart and he joined Minnesota and Oregon to the union which
Means the Oregon trial wouldn’t have been created and many more historical events.

Childhood

James was born in1791 April 23.(this was during George Washington presidency)
he was born in a one room log cabin in Pennsylvania but he was second of 11 children. when he was younger he studied Greek , arithmetic , and book keeping. His father owned a store between two mountains which ever traveler had to pass thought to get out of town so he got a lot of busssinss. the store was called toms trading place complete with cabins, barns , stables , storehouse , and an orchard.James often helped at the store.whiched improved this arithmetic. Later on James family moved to Mercersburg PA  and sold tom’s trading place now they are living in a large two story home in the middle of Mercersburg PA where James father opened another store .When James was sixteen he left his home to attend Dickson Collage .James got good graedsbut he seemed to led his friend s on midnight drinking excursions around the campus after doing this he was expelled from the school. James was sorry that he embarrassed his family and asked for a second chance he kept his word to do better by studying hard and avoiding drinking parties .The following graduation he graduated, he returned home to study law.

Adulthood

James started his career as a lawyer before joining the military to fight the war of 1812.then he was elected to be in the house of representatives for a year.nexft he was appointed James to be a mister to Russia also for a year .James returned home to be a U.S. senator for another year .After that he was the secretary of the state under James K. Polk. Then James served as President Pier’s Minster to great Britain .In the same year[1856]James was nominated as the President. He ran against candidate John C. Fremont .James won after a hotly contested campaign and the threat of the civil war if the republicans won. James retired to Pennsylvania where he was involved in public affairs .He supported Abraham Lincoln thought out the civil war. On June 1, 1868 he died of pneumonia and his political life ended.

James made a contribution to the world when he was a sighted a Minster to Russia and Great Briton. He also made a contribution to the world when he joined Organ and Minnesota to the union
