Why I chose this person?

I chose this person because all his chocolate and how much he tried to succeed in what he did! I love that he never gave and up and he

kept trying to make the perfect milk chocolate formula.Also because

his I hope that all of his hard work will show others to never give up!!! Also I liked his way of life was so simple and he never complained.

He is important to me because he invented my favorite milk chocolate formula. He’s important to others because of his milk chocolate formula and how he took his time and he never gave up! He is also important to people back then, because he made a nice school for unfortunate kids and made a model town for his employees.

 

Childhood (Birth, parent, sibling, important events that impacted them as a child)

Milton Hershey was born on September 13, 1857. Milton was the only surviving child out of Serina. His family moved frequent so he only completed the fourth grade. Milton even attended seven different schools.

 

 

Adulthood (Who influenced them, achievement and disappointment, important events such as marriage or having children)

In 1876 Milton established his first business in Philadelphia. He failed. After Philadelphia he was hoping to strike gold in Colorado. In 1883 Milton started a second candy business. The little capital had much competition so he failed again. Milton Hershey got a loan from the bank and was able to start a caramel business which quick became a success. Hershey sold the caramel company for one million dollars in order to concentrate exclusively on his chocolate making business. About three years later he went to Derry Church to build a brand new factory. He could get fresh supplies of milk to make his perfect milk chocolate formula. In 1898 at the age of 41 Milton surprised his family by marrying Catherine Sweeney. In 1945 Milton was so sad of the loss of his wife. So that same year on October 13, Milton Hershey died at 10:00 and was laid to rest next to his beloved Catharine and his mother in the Hershey Cemetery.

 

 

Contributions t o the world (How did they impact the lives around them and how we live today)

On November 1909 Milton Hershey and Catherine Opened the Industrial School. Milton also made a model town and it had public transportation, school and opportunities. Today million of people buy his chocolate everyday. Thank to Milton Hershey everyone can enjoy a yummy milk chocolate bar.

 

 

How did learning about this person help you and how did it make you feel?

Learning about Milton Hershey was interesting. I got to learn why he wanted to get started in the chocolate making business. It also made me feel really hungry because I love his chocolate.

I would recommend this person if your willing to research and learn about his life and his chocolate business. Also if you like chocolate you should because he is the one that make the world famous chocolate bar!!!!!
